Ecommerce is vital for Detectamet, and the company had a Magento 2 platform using its multisite functionality with a dozen different sites (multilingual and multicurrency) catering to audiences across the world.  However, they were running the platform in house and had a number of challenges around bringing the platform on to the latest version, having a skilled Magento team to add new features and functionality and in supporting the sites in general.

Following a thorough assessment of Magento/Adobe partners Detectamet commissioned Magium to help them with their ecommerce platform.

There were a number of challenges that Magium needed to overcome to help Detectamet put their site in pole position. The site was using a unsupported Magento theme. It also required an update to the latest version of Magento which, while offering enhanced security and a lot of new and exciting features, was a significant undertaking.

Additionally, Detectamet wanted Magium to take responsibility for hosting and supporting the solution to ensure it was robust. The site operated globally so a high availability support solution was required.

Finally, Detectamet had requirements for ongoing development and so Magium needed to understand their platform thoroughly in order to use its expertise to interpret business requirements into code and to see where the team could help best.

Detectamet’s platform is now firing on all cylinders. The site is being managed and monitored by the Magium Team and supported by experts. An ongoing roadmap of change is being delivered with weekly calls to map out the strategic direction of the site to make even more revenue online.

The Magento platform is well maintained with its code in versioning and documentation outlining all the work being carried out. It is being hosted in a secure data centre and managed by Magium’s ISO27001/90001 accredited infrastructure team to ensure performance and security.
